Residents of Niagara-on-the-Lake are dealing with the aftermath of a torrential downpour Monday night: several homes, roads and fields in the town are flooding, with the worst of it happening in rural residential areas and farmlands.
Council appointed Nick Alaimo as treasurer Tuesday, replacing Kyle Freeborn, who departed after more than 14 years with the municipality. Alaimo's appointment takes effect immediately.
