The intersection of York and Concession 6 roads, notorious for several serious collisions, is about to become a four-way stop.
On Thursday, April 7, the Region of Niagara will be installing a four-way stop at the intersection to try to improve safety for drivers using the dangerous stretch of road.
Concession 6 is a popular shortcut between Niagara-on-the-Lake and Niagara Falls.
“We will also be installing red flashing beacons on the east-west approaches as the north-south approaches already have a red flashing beacon,” regional spokesperson Norman Miller said in an email.
The stop sign installation was approved by regional council in December 2021.
