Dear editor:
So, let me get this straight.
When a democratically elected representative of the government (Sam Oosterhoff), in the exercise of his office, supports an organization regardless of whether its views align with his own personal beliefs, he is to be vilified for being closed-minded and hypocritical (“Editorial: Oosterhoff presence was an insult to Shaw’s values,” April 3, The Lake Report).
On the other hand, there is the editor of this newspaper who appears to require that only those people who conform to his own ideological and theological views should be considered open-minded enough to freely conduct their duties.
It seems to me, at least, that Sam Oosterhoff is not the one who is guilty of being closed-minded and hypocritical.
