Two years ago, The Lake Report published the results of a survey carried out indicating a mid- term approval rating of the existing council (“Mid-term approval rate for NOTL council is extremely low, survey finds,” June 27, 2024).

Some of the rates are embarrassingly low and it cannot be claimed by the mayor or certain councillors as being an endorsement by the residents of NOTL that they are supposed to represent.

To my knowledge, the low-rated councillors, in particular Gary Zalepa, Erwin Wiens, Maria Mavridis and Adriana Vizzari have done little or nothing since to improve their individual approval ratings above what the survey indicates.

In my opinion, this should be considered and taken into account at election time.
