Re: “Steffanie Bjorgan honoured with Meritorious Service Award by Governor General,” (The Lake Report, July 11) — the Meritorious Service Medal (civil division) is one of Canada’s most prestigious awards and deservingly granted to Steffanie for her work over many years in serving our community through Red Roof Retreat.

Steffanie, when you go to Rideau Hall to receive the medal from the Governor General, you will be in awe of the diverse achievements of the fellow recipients whom you stand among.

Recipients are treated royally and deservingly so.

Well done, Steffanie. NOTL is proud of you.
