Dear editor:

I am filled with disappointment when people with political power publicly endorse only those that they wish to have on their “team.”

In a time where twice-impeached Donald Trump is endorsing a range of “interesting candidates,” it makes me reflect on whether we are or should be looking for independent thought from our elected politicians, or if we want individuals who will blindly follow the will of their leader.

I will vote for someone who vows to work with whomever the voting public sees fit to send to council to address the needs of this community.
