Dear editor:

Regarding your July 8 news story (” ‘Traditional marriage’ sign decried as homophobic, hateful“) and editorial (“A shameful sign of the times“) about a man who posted a lawn sign celebrating his “traditional marriage.”

This is a determined announcement of a conservative point of view. There would not have been such a strong editorial against a similar sign expressing a more modern point of view. 

I think the editor displayed a bias of his own and has used his role to denigrate people who deserve to have their own opinions expressed as strongly as they wish.
