Dear editor:

When all the hoopla of the municipal elections settle down, and we have a new lord mayor and council in place, I predict we will see a double-digit increase in our property taxes in 2027.

Clearly the table was set when our outgoing elected officials, with their re-election aspirations in mind, passed a 2.19 per cent property tax increase for 2026.

Clearly as informed residents, we are not all so naive and immediately recognized their pathetic sleight-of-hand shell game.
