Niagara 5000 will return to Niagara-on-the-Lake for its third iteration, bringing rare supercars, private aviation, marine experiences and more back into town.
This year, the events will be split up over Sept. 18 and 19 in both NOTL and Niagara Falls, with a parade of cars cruising through town on the 18 and a Hangar Experience event taking place at the Niagara District Airport on the 19th.
The airport is to be transported into a showcase of supercars, private aircraft, motorcycles, a 47-foot Fountain pace boat, fashion, food and wine, autocross and high-speed runs with professional drivers.
Driver registration and tickets for the Hangar Experience are available at the Niagara 5000 website, niagara5000.ca.
Half of every $300 driver registration will go to MacKids at McMaster Children’s Hospital.
CEO and founder Alana Hurov aims to raise $30,000 this year, more than doubling last year’s $12,500 raised.
The parade on the 18th will feature a number of McLaren, Lamborghini and Ferrari vehicles. Mélanie Villeneuve, daughter of Canadian Formula 1 driver Gilles Villeneuve, will serve as the grand marshal.
Ferrari of Ontario has joined the weekend’s extensive list of sponsors, alongside other names including Bombardier, Air Canada, Tesla and Maserati of Toronto.
Supercar and vintage-car owners can still register to participate in the Sept. 18 show, parade and cruise. The $300 registration includes admission for one vehicle and two guests, the Niagara 5000 backyard BBQ and winery experience at Reif Estate Winery.
The exotic car show and supercar parade are free for spectators.
