Letter: Tragic state of affairs at Parliament Oak
Letter to the editor. FILE

Dear editor:

I take the aerial view of the Parliament Oak fiasco surrounded by the large green trees and surrounding side streets (published in The Lake Report on July 23: “Letter: Basements, the water table and trees“) as devastating, sad and tragic.

I see it is emblematic of all that has been wrong with a council that often ignores expert advice and citizen advocacy in favour of an agenda that is often not-so obscure.

And as that image gets ever worse when this hotel develops, as predicted, let it serve as a legacy to future councils as something never to be repeated.
