Dear editor:

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for The Lake Report’s outstanding coverage and community engagement during the recent municipal election.

While political campaigns often focus heavily on traditional door-knocking, the reality of modern local politics is that the true heavy lifting happens where the community actually congregates to discuss the issues.

The Lake Report provided that vital forum. By listening to the community and printing the letters to the editor that supported the incoming lord mayor and councillors, your publication gave a powerful voice to everyday residents.

Combined with the active discussions across local digital and Facebook communities, your coverage achieved a massive reach, landing directly in local households and businesses. That local reach is precisely what informed, engaged and mobilized voters who might otherwise have been missed.

Thank you for your dedication to robust local journalism, for providing a platform for grassroots perspectives and for the behind-the-scenes work your team did to keep our community informed throughout this election cycle.
