Subsequent to my published letter on Europe’s tourism crisis (“Tourism pushback in Spain an omen of things to come,” Aug. 6) and how NOTL should take notice, the recent article in a recent edition of U.K. Daily Mail is as follows: “Tourists stay away from Corsica.”

The National Liberation Front of Corsica – Union of Combatants, hooded members with submachine guns and rifles, threatened tourists to stay at home.

Perhaps NOTL is witnessing a softer protest  as the number of homes for sale have reached a decade-high. Residents are getting out of Dodge so to speak, and no one, among our elected officials, is in the very least interested in determining why.

The exodus will continue as our town’s underbelly reputation spreads.
