Dear editor:
I was disappointed to learn council voted to spend $200,000 on advancing a plan to develop 176 Wellington as a mixed-use building with 150 parking spaces (“Town pitches parking,” March 26).
We talk a lot in NOTL about attracting young families to the area, and yet we have no public school, no hospital and few spaces for families to gather, outside the community centre.
Given these needs, and the fact that it’s so rare a public space comes up in the Old Town, I’m surprised that quadrupling parking on the site has been designated as a priority.
