OPINION
I wrote this letter to the editor of the new The Local. But since I can’t find their website, and since they’d never print it, I decided to send it to you.
For your amusement:
Niagara does not need a newspaper that can’t tell the difference between political narrative and politics. We don’t want to have to believe in your author’s intentions. It’s no good pretending that your point of view are a kind of journalism. It isn’t. It preys on the weakest among us.
I don’t think your “community newspaper” is a community newspaper.
Editor's note: Lepp is referring to the start of a new paper in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The letter addresses the new paper, which is partially owned by a known local politician, and which boasts an advisory board (not an editorial board) of political powerhouses, such as the executive director of the local chamber of commerce.
