Stay Fit NOTL: The six-minute work out challenge

Jaclyn Willms

Special to The Lake Report

Lets do this together.

I’m challenging you to do six minutes of exercise everyday until Christmas.

This is the time of year exercise and healthy habits tends to go on the back burner. The voice in the back of your head keeps telling you that the hustle and bustle of Christmas is too busy, you have extra commitments and that you’ll get back on the healthy train in January.

Breaking this mindset can be difficult and overwhelming so we avoid it all together.

Instead of focusing on all the extra stress and things you have to do this holiday season I want you to add to your list of priorities six minutes of movement in the morning or at night every single day.

Set a timer for six minutes and start to do a minute each of two exercises switching back and forth or one-minute on and one-minute rest if you are a beginner.

Make it simple so you have no excuse not to do it.

Maybe each day focus on just one exercise or combine them each day.

Bottom line- movements creates more movement and if you are taking this step to move for six minutes every day you are likely to do more and watch a little closer what you eat.
