With the holiday season just around the corner, the date for this year’s Candlelight Stroll has been announced, and nominations are now open for Niagara-on-the-Lake residents to suggest who they would like to receive the funds raised from the event.
The Candlelight Stroll is set for Friday, Dec. 4 and will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. in downtown Old Town.
The Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce is inviting nominations for this year’s fundraising recipients, with proceeds from candle sales supporting local people and groups in need.
Community members can nominate local individuals, families and organizations by emailing the chamber’s special events co-ordinator, Dalton Patterson, at dalton@niagaraonthelake.com.
Nominations close Nov. 17, with the selected recipients expected to be announced the following week.
The annual holiday tradition features thousands of candles, live music, local carollers and festive entertainment throughout the historic downtown.
Last year, hundreds gathered in downtown NOTL for the annual event, which raised $14,500 for Pink Pearl Canada, an organization supporting young women with cancer.
