Torrential rains, winds and hail struck Niagara-on-the-Lake on Sunday afternoon – and repeatedly, again on Monday.

The result was some flooded basements, soaked lawns and gardens, large pond-size puddles along some roads and the NOTL Golf Club was drenched and unplayable – not that many dared to head out.

On Sunday afternoon in downtown NOTL, photographer Julia Sacco caught snaps of people seeking shelter from the storm.
