Letter: Stop! Drivers oblivious to crosswalk’s flashing lights
Letter writer Helen Kopec urges drivers in town to slow down and watch out for pedestrians at the crosswalk of Anderson Lane.

Dear editor:

It seems I am risking my life every time I walk to the Niagara-on-the-Lake Public Library.

Last Thursday, I witnessed other dumbfounded pedestrians unable to cross Niagara Stone Road at Anderson Lane as oblivious motorists hurtled through the crosswalk even though the flashing lights were activated.

Drivers, please slow down and look up as you approach Anderson Lane from either direction.

If you happen to spot an irate foot traveller shaking their fist and cursing, that is an important clue.

And pedestrians, good luck.
