Dear editor:

I see the lord mayor and the town council are ramping up the Gestapo tactics, in my opinion an over-reaction to visitors needing a break from lockdown for their sanity.

Bylaw enforcement officers will be ticketing people in town and now on Parks Canada property as well.

Even ridiculous councillors were talking about blocking Queen Street or putting in a gate meter?

There will be a public backlash against this town because of tactics like this come the recovery.

If I was visiting and one of those “public servants” had given me a $750 ticket, I would make sure I go somewhere else when it gets better.

Members of council should be careful what they wish for!
