Sessions next week to reveal results of senior housing survey
Cindy Grant, one of ten NOTL residents leading the Seniors Housing Options group, says the group hopes to get feedback from locals on the results of the survey conducted earlier this year. FILE

Niagara-on-the-Lake residents have a chance to voice their concerns surrounding senior housing during three community forums next week.

The Senior Housing Options group, led by Cindy Grant and nine other residents, is unveilling the results of their housing options survey conducted earlier in the year and taking in more NOTLer feedback during three forums scheduled throughout the week.

The informal sessions will give residents a chance to chat with committee members about what the survey results mean.

“The main intent of the sessions is to get feedback from residents,” Grant told The Lake Report.

Comments from attendees about what options for senior’s housing they would like to see will be taken to council to accompany the survey results, Grant said.

The three sessions are Monday, Oct. 28 at the community centre’s Simpson room, Tuesday, Oct. 29 at the Virgil Arena’s Mary Snider room and Wednesday, Oct. 30 at the Queenston Public Library.

Each session will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Grant wanted to have a session in each village, she said.

“I’m still working on St. Davids and Glendale, but I’m hoping to follow those up the following week,” Grant said.
