Sixteen-year-old Peyton Leigh is a national champion.

During this week’s Speedo Canadian Championships in Toronto and Welland, Leigh swam the 1500-metre and 800-metre freestyle, winning gold for both and achieving new best times.

She took home silver for the 400-metre freestyle.

During her first-ever open water swim, Leigh took home third place in the three-kilometre swim.
