A 59-year-old Niagara-on-the-Lake man is facing impaired driving charges after a single-vehicle crash on Thursday, Aug. 4.

Police said they responded to a crash near Niagara Stone Road and Concession 4 shortly  after 10 p.m.

“Upon arrival, officers located a Ford F-150 pickup truck in the ditch and no driver around,” a Niagara Regional Police spokesperson said.

Officers called in the canine unit and a suspect was arrested after a man was found hiding  in a nearby peach orchard, police said.

Allan Kuri was released and is scheduled to appear in a St. Catharines courtroom on Sept. 7.
