The Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum is trading town lights for starlight again this summer as Band in the Barn returns July 31.

The midsummer fundraiser will feature live music by Gumbo Stew, food from PigOut Niagara, beer and wine from Bella Terra Vineyards, Konzelmann Estate Winery and the Exchange Brewery, a live auction and dancing among the vines.

This year’s event will be held at the 150-acre farm of Albrecht and Anja Seeger.

Albrecht Seeger, an eighth-generation grape grower, worked alongside Niagara wine industry pioneers Paul Bosc, Donald Ziraldo and Karl Kaiser, helping champion the cultivation of vinifera grapes in the region.

The Seeger farm is also home to some of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s oldest Riesling and Chardonnay plantings, according to the museum, giving guests a rare chance to spend an evening among some of the town’s most historic vineyards.

Barn doors open at 7 p.m., with entertainment beginning at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $125 and include food and drinks, along with a $75 tax receipt.

The event is outdoors and guests are advised to dress for the weather. Parking is available on site.
