Juno-nominated comedian and Just For Laughs alumni Derek Seguin is making a pitstop in Niagara-on-the-Lake next week.
Seguin’s Life of Leisure comedy tour is making stops across the country and on April 26, Seguin will partner with Icebreakers and NOTL comedian Jeff Paul for a special show at Oast House.
Attendees can “expect the unexpected,” with this special show, Seguin told The Lake Report.
Seguin talks a lot about his day-to-day life during his set, making for a relatably hilarious show.
“I talk a lot about my girlfriend. I talk about my kids, my frustration, which every day seems to be getting a little out of hand,” he said.
“Hopefully, they can expect a really fun, good, relatable show.”
The show marks a return to Icebreakers for Seguin, who previously performed at the festival.
He’ll be joined by Paul, who will also perform an act.
“There’s only two of us doing the show,” Seguin said. “We’ve worked together before — we’re very compatible.”
Ticketholders can expect material a bit edgier than family-friendly, Seguin said.
“We wouldn’t play well together in church basements,” he said.
“We say a lot of things that, you know, our moms probably are ashamed of.”
Seguin urges NOTLers to get their tickets now, at $35 each, and support Canadian comedians.
“We should be putting tariffs on comedy.”
