A 19-year-old woman has died after a two-vehicle collision in Niagara-on-the-Lake on Saturday.

The crash occurred shortly after 2:15 p.m. at Concession 7 and Line 6 roads.

Police said a 19-year-old man was driving a silver Subaru Impreza southbound on Concession 7 Road with a 19-year-old female passenger.

At the same time, a 39-year-old man was operating a black Audi R8 northbound on Line 6 Road with a 36-year-old passenger.

The driver of the Subaru attempted to make an eastbound turn onto Line 6 Road when both vehicles collided.

The driver of the Subaru was taken to an out of region hospital with serious injuries. The 19-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and the passenger of the Audi were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police have not released the identities of anyone involved in the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing by detectives with the collision reconstruction unit and the coroner's office.
