NOTL launches free postcard program

The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is offering free NOTL spring postcards for residents looking to send a letter.

The initiative will allow residents to sign up for a free postcard, in an effort to help people stay connected to family and friends during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The town said the initiative was inspired by Canada Post's recent free postcard program.

Residents can select from five photos for their postcard image. The photos were submitted by local photographers through the town’s 2020 photo contest and “highlight some of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s natural beauty,” said the town in a news release.

Lord Mayor Betty Disero said the postcard program is “a fantastic way to support our residents while also highlighting some of the great photography work from locals right here in Niagara-on-the-Lake.”

Niagara-on-the-Lake residents who want a postcard can fill out an online form at notl.com/postcard in order to receive a prepaid postcard. There is a limit of one per person.

“I would like to encourage residents to take advantage of this great initiative,” said chief administrative officer Marnie Cluckie.

“Help us help you stay connected to your loved ones during this challenging season by taking a few moments to write a kind and encouraging note on a pre-paid postcard that we’ll send you.”

The sign-up deadline is March 31, 2021 and postcards will be placed in the mail the week of April 5, 2021.
