Sandra O’Connor appointed to Niagara-on-the-Lake town council

Sandra O'Connor will be joining Niagara-on-the-Lake town council.

Council voted to appoint O'Connor — the runner-up in the 2018 municipal election — on July 13, to fill a seat left vacant by Stuart McCormack, who resigned from his position July 1.

The decision was confirmed at council Wednesday.

“I'm confident that Sandra O’Connor will be a great addition to our town council, and I look forward to working with her,” said Lord Mayor Betty Disero in a media release.

“I am honoured that council and the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake have decided to place their trust in me to fulfill this important role during these challenging times,” said O’Connor. “I look forward to representing the people of Niagara-on-the-Lake, and I will work tirelessly to protect
residents’ health, livelihoods and environment.”
