BREAKING: Not taking emergency orders seriously? The town can now fine you $750

Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake bylaw officers can now issue a $750 fine to anyone found in contravention of emergency orders.

Under new powers from the province, the town can enforce emergency orders for the closure of public places and establishments, prohibiting events and gatherings of more than five people, and prohibiting unfair pricing on necessary goods.

As well, bylaw officers can also issue a fine of $1,000 for obstructing anyone enforcing or complying with the emergency orders.
