Harley dealer’s chili cook-off raises money for charity

Clare’s Harley-Davison Niagara held a chili cook-off last Thursday raising about $125 for a local charity.

All donations from the event went toward Community Support Services of Niagara, a non-profit organization helping seniors and adults with disabilities to live independently in their homes by providing services such as home maintenance and repair, transportation, laundry and light cleaning, a lunch out, meals on wheels, assessing safety at home, and friendly visiting or a phone chat.

Jonna Wolfenberg, a community engagement co-ordinator for Community Support Services of Niagara, brought a crockpot of vegetarian chili made by her husband for the cook-off.

“The Clare’s customers have been extremely, extremely generous to us,” Wolfenberg told The Lake Report. “And Lisa and Clare’s have been absolutely great with us."
