The 23 soccer balls, which were collected in the fall and brought to Jamaica by local farm worker Prophet Elisha Steele, have been delivered into thankful hands. The balls were purchased from the excess money raised for a cricket mat for the farm worker's cricket team.
Steele has been collecting soccer balls and bringing them back home with him for 20 years. The sight of children kicking around pop cans and bottles inspired his efforts to bring supplies home for the students, he said in an interview this fall.
