The annual Jazz and Brunch series at Strewn Winery is back, giving local jazz lovers a chance to enjoy a meal coupled with live music.
The show was launched at the OLiV Tasting Room, Tapas Bar and Restaurant (located at Strewn) last Sunday, Jan. 12, with the Juliet Dunn Trio kicking off the series.
The restaurant filled up with diners quickly for opening day.
“It was great, lots of fun,” said Juliet Dunn. “It’s nice, it’s casual … It’s nice to catch up with people and see locals.”
The series will be held every Sunday afternoon at the OLiV Tasting Room until Apr. 26.
Other featured jazz musicians from across Niagara region will include Barb Mantini, MGM Trio, Marc Ucci, Wainright 2, Justin and The Blues Two, and Peter Shea.
The series, which used to be called Oysters and Jazz, was first organized by the restaurant’s previous owners Patricia Keyes and Alain Levesque at what was then called Terroir La Cachette. At first, the show only provided instrumental music before inviting vocalists.
After the new owners took over, the show expanded from offering just oysters to providing full brunch, Dunn told The Lake Report.
Live jazz will be performed from noon to 3 p.m. Brunch is offered from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m.
Reservations can be made by phone or at olivtapasnotl.com.
