Niagara Regional Police want help supporting local families with its annual food and toy drive

Niagara Regional Police want your help collecting food and toys for families in need this season.

The annual Niagara police Holiday Food and Toy Drive has kicked off. Donations of non-perishable food items and new, unwrapped toys can be brought to the front desk of any police station during business hours.

A spokesperson for Niagara Regional Police asked people to keep in mind children between nine and 13 when making donations, as the age group is often “overlooked.” Some gift ideas for that group are movie passes, gift cards and sporting apparel and goods.

“Community groups have aslo indicated the need for non-perishable food items, particularly proteins, is even greater this year,” she said in a media statement. Each donation will be distributed within the community it was donated in.
