23-year-old woman facing charges following stabbing

A 23-year-old woman is facing charges of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon after an altercation in Thorold left two men with injuries, police say.

Police were called to the intersection of Tuliptree Rd. and Winterberry Blvd. in Thorold at around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, where they found a man in his 20’s with a stab wound.

The man was transported to a local hospital for assessment before being taken to an out-of-town hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Another man received minor injuries.

The suspect was being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Tuesday at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.

Police aren’t releasing the name of the accused because the incident is being investigated as a domestic disturbance.
