Gallery: Frightmare in the Falls takes over Scotiabank Centre

The first-ever Frightmare in the Falls took over the Scotiabank Conventional Centre during the weekend, offering horror fans a chance to check out 50,000 square feet of horror-themed displays, vendors, movie props, panels, plus the chance to meet celebrities from classic horror films.

Some vendors and exhibitors included Haunt Manor, Scarewear Productions, Dead Glamour Girlz and Bad Billy’s Blades.

Celebrities included Kane Hodder, Alex Vincent, Christine Elise, and Mitch Markowitz.

The event drew about 3,000 people this year, said organizer Chris Dabrowski.

Kane Hodder, who played Jason Voorhees in the Friday the 13th film series, said he didn’t expect the turnout to be as big as it was and that he enjoyed how fans were more knowledgeable than himself about the movies.

Event organizers said next year’s event is expected to double in size.
