Double Deck Tours in Niagara Falls has been purchased by an Atlantic Canada company.
Ambassatours, a sightseeing tour company from Eastern Canada announced the acquisition of Double Deck Tours on Nov. 1.
With the purchase, Ambassatours becomes the world’s largest owner-operator of vintage routemaster double decker buses.
“This acquisition is a unique opportunity to be part of the Ontario tourism landscape, in such an iconic location as Niagara Falls,” said Dennis Campbell, CEO, Ambassatours Gray Line.
Bert Watson, whose family owned Double Deck for 54 years sold the company after having it in his family for three generations.
“From the start, we felt we could trust Ambassatours to honour our half century commitment to presenting Niagara Falls through the vantage points afforded by our classic, British double decker buses,” said Bert Watson, owner, Double Deck Tours.
“We share the same values and passion for double deck touring, which makes us very excited to see how Ambassatours will grow and develop our already successful company.”
Double Deck Tours will continue to operate under its already established brand and with the new owner-operator in place they will be looking to expand its sightseeing tours and charter buses.
Ambassatours has announced that its founder’s grandson, Dustin Watson will be the new service manager for Double Deck Tours and Terri McCulloch will be the team’s general manager starting in spring of 2019.
