Fentanyl trafficking arrest in Falls

A woman has been charged with the alleged offence of trafficking fentanyl in the city of Niagara Falls.

Police arrested and charged Patricia Walstra of Fort Erie with trafficking fentanyl on Thursday after an investigation was concluded by the NRP's Opioid Enforcement Unit.

Walstra was released from custody with a future court date.

No futher details were provided.

Fentanyl is a powerful opioid used for anathesia. As little as two milligrams of pure fentanyl can be lethal.
