The Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club has a new head pro.

Max Murphy, a native of Thorold and graduate of Georgian College’s business golf management program, starts as NOTL’s pro on Feb. 5, the club announced Tuesday.

He succeeds Keith Vant, who left to become the pro at Clublink’s Glendale Golf and Country Club in Hamilton.

Murphy has been an assistant pro at the Cherry Hill Club in Ridgeway for the past seven years. He also spent one season at the Banff Springs Golf Course.

“This announcement marks a significant step forward in our commitment to delivering an exceptional golf experience for all of our members at North America’s oldest golf course,” NOTL club owners Marc Forbes, Eva Kessel and Rob DiDomenico said in a notice to members.

The owners added “Murphy will play a pivotal role in elevating our golf operations by providing a welcoming atmosphere and contributing to the overall success of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club.”
