Fresh off winning two bronze medals at the 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games, Carter Simpson will be at the centre of a celebration on April 10 at Konzelmann Estate Winery.
The free celebration, running from 4 to 7 p.m., offers Niagara-on-the-Lake residents a chance to meet Simpson, congratulate him, get autographs and have a complimentary glass of sparkling wine.
Simpson, 31, earned bronze in alpine skiing in both the Super G and Intermediate Slalom in Sestriere, Italy, earlier this month, and finished fourth in the Intermediate Giant Slalom.
His mother, AnnLiz Simpson, called the experience “emotional” and said seeing him compete on the world stage was unforgettable. Read more here.
“Konzelmann has and will always celebrate what makes Niagara-on-the-Lake so special,” said Coun. Andrew Niven, director of marketing and hospitality at Konzelmann.
Niven said Carter’s unwavering dedication and passion for his sport inspired the winery to honour him.
“Qualities that inspire us all,” he said.
