Love is on the menu this Valentine’s Day as three Niagara-on-the-Lake restaurants were named among Canada’s most romantic dining destinations.
“Canada’s Top 100 Romantic Restaurants for 2025” by OpenTable, an online reservation platform, is a collection of standout romantic dining spots across the country based on more than 900,000 diner reviews.
“The way to Canadians’ hearts are through their stomachs,” said Matt Davis, OpenTable Canada’s country director, in a news release.
On the list were the Winery Restaurant at Peller Estates, the Drawing Room at the the Prince of Wales Hotel and Cannery Restaurant at Pillar and Post Inn & Spa.
For this top 100 list, OpenTable compared Valentine’s Day reservations from 2024 to 2023, surveyed 1,510 Canadians and analyzed reviews that tagged restaurants as “romantic,” adjusting results for major regions like Ontario.
“We’re definitely proud to be on that list,” said Kayla Wall, hospitality manager at Peller Estates Winery and Restaurant.
The intimate restaurant embraces small-town charm, especially in the evenings, with a fireplace and glowing trees — which creates the romantic ambience that earned it a spot on the list, she said.
Peller is offering a special Valentine’s Day tasting menu on Friday, Feb. 14 and for the week leading up to it, she said.
“We like to make sure that our Valentine’s Day is special,” said Wall.
