The Niagara-on-the-Lake Rotary Club’s sold out annual Ice Wine Cocktail Party is fast approaching — and you don’t need to like ice wine to attend.

The fundraiser will be in Old Town on Friday, Sept. 15 at the Hiscott House on 78 Preideaux St. in support of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s Red Roof Retreat as well as Rotary International projects.

Each organization will get 50 per cent of the proceeds.

If ice wine doesn’t tickle your fancy, that’s OK. There will be plenty of other options from NOTL’s wineries and breweries.

“The name of the cocktail party is a little bit misleading in that, yes, we do have ice wine cocktails, but we also have wine,” said Nancy Bailey from Engel & Völkers, the lead sponsor.

There will be food stations from NOTL restaurants serving sushi, beef tenderloin crostini, oven-fired pizza and raclette.

There are also plenty of hors d’oeuvres to go around.

Bailey said about 20 restaurants will be filling up trays that will then be passed around by volunteers at the function.

The fundraiser will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and will include a live performance from the Athertones’ band. The dress requirement is cocktail attire.

Tickets to the function are officially sold out.
