Hundreds came out to Simcoe Park on Sunday, Sept. 15 to take part in the 44th annual Terry Fox Run in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

No matter how they did it — on foot, on bicycles, rollerblades or wheelchairs — marathoners lapped around part of Old Town, taking off from Simcoe Park, down Queen Street, around John Street East, Ricardo Street and back.

This year’s run was held in honour of the late Debbie Eke, a NOTL resident who died last October after a battle with cancer.

According to the NOTL Terry Fox Run fundraising page, as of Wednesday evening, $52,655 has been raised to support the Terry Fox Foundation’s charity work in cancer research.
