Line 2 Road at Townline Road to close until spring for culvert replacement
The town, through contractor CRL Campbell Construction, started work on the Townline Road culvert on Jan. 5. DAN SMEENK

A portion of Line 2 Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake will be closed until this spring for construction work to replace a culvert at Townline Road.

The town, through contractor CRL Campbell Construction, started this work on Monday, Jan. 5. It says the project requires a full road closure around the culvert on Line 2 Road as the Townline Road culvert crosses the roadway.

Townline Road will be open with one lane between Church Road and Scott Street, controlled by portable traffic signals. Crews will provide a detour route around the site for traffic.

The road closure will be in place for 17 weeks, states the town. It did not specify when the road will reopen. Seventeen weeks from the week of Jan. 5 will be the end of April.

Emergency services were informed of this closure and have developed a plan to ensure emergency services to the properties in the closure area remain unaffected, the town states.

Any inquiries concerning this road reconstruction can be directed to Mike Komljenovic, engineering supervisor, at mike.komljenovic@notl.com or 905-468-3266 ext. 240.
