Summer’s almost here in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and in a couple of weeks, residents can expect the town’s public pools to open for another season of fun under the sun.
While the Splash Pad is already open at the Virgil Sports Park, the Niagara Pool on King Street is set to open for the weekend on June 21 and 22, the start of summer.
Then, on June 29, the rest of NOTL’s main pools will be open for the season, including the Niagara Pool, St. Davids Pool and Simcoe Park Wading Pool.
Several outdoor recreational amenities have already opened as the weather’s been getting warmer, including the town’s pickleball courts, skatepark, tennis courts and basketball courts, playgrounds, and the baseball diamonds and soccer fields at Memorial Park and the Virgil Sports Park.
“Our parks, pools, and public spaces are a reflection of the pride we take in our community,” said chief administrator Bruce Zvaniga in a media release. “Thanks to the hard work of our staff, residents and visitors can enjoy clean, safe, and welcoming spaces all summer long.”
Here are the hours for NOTL’s aquatic amenities this season:
Splash Pad (1565 Four Mile Creek Rd., Virgil Sports Park): 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Niagara Pool (370 King St.): 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday

Additionally, Play in the Park returns on June 30, offering a free, drop-in mobile program that brings sports and activities to local parks for all ages and abilities.
Community members are encouraged to use the Parks Locator tool to easily explore the different amenities available at each location and plan outdoor activities.
The town reminds all users to treat these spaces with care, share facilities respectfully, and enjoy a safe, active summer season in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
