The nominees for the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce’s annual business awards are out and Niagara-on-the-Lake is well-represented in the category celebrating excellence in tourism and hospitality.
The nominated businesses from NOTL include 124 on Queen Hotel and Spa, Niagara Geopark, Silversmith Brewing Co. and White Oaks Resort and Spa, four of the five nominees for the Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Award (alongside the Smokin’ Buddha in Port Colborne).
This year’s Niagara Business Achievement Awards will be held on June 18 at the Holiday Inn & Suites in St. Catharines from 6 to 9:30 p.m., when the winners of the nine categories will be announced.
Last June, Virgil’s Silversmith Brewing Co. took home the top award, Business of the Year. The brewing company is also up for an Excellence in Business Award: Up to 25 Employees, among three other businesses.
While Silversmith isn’t a nominee again in the category this year, the nominee list does have some NOTL representation, with Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours, which operates one of its bases in Queenston, and White Meadows Farms, which run a maple syrup store on Queen Street in Old Town, on the list alongside four other Niagara businesses.
The awards gala will take place at the Holiday Inn & Suites located at 327 Ontario St.
