If you’re out and about on Saturday, Nov. 30, the day before the start of the annual Christian observance season, be sure to listen for the sounds of the holidays filling the air along the banks of the Niagara River.
The Living Water Wayside Chapel Caroling Sing-A-Long will be held for its third year on the grounds of NOTL’s famous tiny church Line 1 Road on the Niagara River Parkway.
Hosted by the Niagara Falls Faith Fellowship Church, it is a free outdoor event open to anyone who wants to attend.
“Just come as you are and bring your voice,” said organizer Rick Meloen.
With a songbook of 26 tunes, getting through the entire set list could take up to an hour, said Meloen, who is advising people to dress for the weather.
“It will be mostly all traditional songs because, of course, you want songs that people recognize and can sing along to,” he added.
Performing artist and Niagara-on-the-Lake resident Dianne Ticknor will be in attendance to lead the vocals.
Tiknor is a vocalist, dramatist, stand-up comic and ministry speaker.
“We are very happy to have her lead this because you don’t want me leading it,” joked Meloen.
If the last two years are any indication, Meleon believes the sing-along will attract a good number of people to kick off the festive season in NOTL.
“(In 2022) the turnout was pretty good. Last year, the turnout was pretty good as well,” he said.
“We added a sound system last year of nothing fancy and that would that worked out well for us too.”
The carolling will begin at 3 p.m.
