At the centre of the controversy

Cathy Simpson: Former chief librarian and CEO, who was fired over the contents of a column published in The Lake Report about Freedom to Read Week. Simpson was in the position for more than a decade.

Monica Harris: Executive director of the U.S.-based Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism (FAIR). Many of FAIR’s talking points were included in Simpson’s column.
