Man charged in Fort Erie stabbing

Police have arrested a man in relation to a stabbing and police involved shooting that took place on May 18 within the Urgent Care Centre at the Douglas Memorial Site in Fort Erie.

Charged with attempted murder and assault with a weapon is 29-year-old Brandon Stewart of Fort Erie.

As of Saturday, police said Stewart was still being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Police aren't releasing additional details due to an ongoing investigation by the Special Investigations Unit, which investigates incidents resulting in injury, death or allegations of assault.
