Niagara Falls warning residents of water scam
scamstock

The city of Niagara Falls has reported recent concerns from residents of salespeople selling water filtration equipment or wanting to inspect water lines.

The group is also requesting personal information on utility accounts and are claiming that they are working on behalf of the city or the province.

Door-to-door sales of water filters was banned and made illegal in Ontario as of March 1.

The city of Niagara Falls has no association with this group and does not support or sell water filtration equipment, reminding residents that they are not required to provide access or information to anyone.

Concerned residents can contact the police at, 905-688-4111.
