Town to open for in-person services Tuesday

In-person council meetings expected to resume in March

The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is opening up its municipal offices for in-person services again on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

In an statement released Friday, the town said it will resume its regular hours of Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In-person council meetings are expected to resume in March but there is no confirmed date, said the town's customer experience manager Lauren Kruitbosch. Council meetings will remain virtual until then.

Lord Mayor Betty Disero said she would like to thank the public for being patient throughout the pandemic.

“I would also like to thank town staff for finding ways to offer alternative service options these last two years and enhance and modernize our services. It has been a combined effort to protect the health and safety of our community,” she said in the release.

Town hall will be opening for walk-in counter service and for pre-arranged appointments.

Proof of vaccination is required for in-person meetings, but not for walk-in counter service. All customers coming into town facilities must wear a mask and maintain physical distance.
