Police are warning explosions and simulated gun shots will be heard in the area of Concession 2 and Troup roads in Port Colborne today as part of a police training exercise.

The training will occur Wednesday and Thursday from morning until 5 p.m.

Members of the public should also expect an increased police presence and the smell of smoke.

Police said there will be signage in the area.

The public is asked to stay away from the training sites for their safety and the safety of the officers involved.
